The announcement of Chinese government scholarship results is typically made by the end of July in accordance with the CSC China policy. Successful candidates begin their university programs from the beginning of September.

Students can secure these scholarships through various channels, including:

  • Applying directly to Chinese universities offering the scholarships
  •  Submitting applications through the Chinese embassy in countries with diplomatic ties to China
  • Preparing application materials and submitting them directly to the university
  • Utilizing the embassy application process, known as the "Bilateral Program"

The CGS application procedure is straightforward, and students can prepare their applications independently without needing to consult or pay agents. To apply for the Chinese Government Scholarship and secure China Scholarship, new students should follow these steps. The scholarship program is open to Master's and Ph.D. students across various fields, including engineering, medical, management, and law.

Follow these steps to apply for a Chinese Government Scholarship:

Step 1: 

Identify a reputable university offering your desired program that is affiliated with the CGS. You can refer to the Subject Wise University List Under CSC for options.

Step 2: 

Establish contact with a professor at the chosen university and request their acceptance as your potential supervisor. Here's an example email template. Securing a professor's acceptance can improve your scholarship prospects and is a feasible process. Once the professor agrees, send them a Supervisor Request Letter or an Acceptance Letter in the prescribed format.

Step 3: 

Complete the CSC Online Application Form via the Chinese Government Scholarship login portal.

There are three categories of CSC Scholarships:

1. CSC Scholarship Category A: Choose this if you're applying through the Chinese Embassy. Note that under the new Chinese Scholarship Council Policy, you can apply to two universities through the Embassy.

2. CSC Scholarship Category B: Opt for this if you're applying directly to a university. Keep in mind that according to the new policy, you can apply to one university under Category B.

CSC Scholarship Category C:CSC Scholarship Category C is chosen if you're applying through alternative sources. Since you're applying directly to a Chinese university, select CSC Scholarship Category Type B in the CSC Scholarship Online Application System while completing the form.

Step 4: 

Fill out the "Physical Examination Record for Foreigner" form and attach the required medical reports. This form, also known as the Foreigner Physical Examination Form, is an essential part of the process.

Step 5:

 Print and compile the following documents. Remember to have all your educational documents notarized by a Notary Republic.

Graduate school students receive financial aid through this scholarship. A total of 279 Chinese universities provide scholarships for international students.
