 Introduction 


The Gates Cambridge Scholarship is a prestigious, highly competitive full-cost scholarship awarded to outstanding applicants from countries outside the UK to pursue a full-time postgraduate degree in any subject available at the University of Cambridge. The scholarship program was established in 2000 with a donation from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and aims to build a global network of future leaders committed to improving the lives of others.

1.Eligibility:

    Open to applicants from any country outside the UK.

    Applicants must apply to pursue one of the following full-time residential courses of study at the University of Cambridge: PhD, MSc/MLitt, or a one-year postgraduate course (with some exceptions).

    Outstanding intellectual ability.

    Leadership potential.

    A commitment to improving the lives of others.

    A good fit between the applicant's qualifications and aspirations and the postgraduate program at Cambridge for which they are applying.


3. Funding:

4. Application Process:

    Applicants must apply for admission to the University of Cambridge and a Gates Cambridge Scholarship via the University's Graduate Application Portal.

    Deadlines vary but generally fall in early December for US applicants and early January for all other applicants.
