1. Eligibility:

    Applicants must be seeking admission to a two-year master’s degree program in international affairs or another area relevant to the work of the U.S. Foreign Service.

    They should have a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher at the time of application.


2. Award:

    The fellowship provides up to $42,000 annually for two years. This includes:

     Up to $24,000 annually for tuition and mandatory fees.

      A stipend of $18,000 annually for living expenses, books, and other expenses.

    Additional benefits include two internships (one on Capitol Hill and one overseas at a U.S. embassy or consulate), mentoring from a Foreign Service Officer, and professional development opportunities.


3. Service Requirement:

    Upon successful completion of the program and entry requirements, fellows must commit to a minimum of five years of service as a Foreign Service Officer. This commitment ensures that the investment in their education directly benefits the U.S. Foreign Service.


4. Application Process:

    The application includes submitting personal statements, a resume, letters of recommendation, transcripts, and GRE scores (if required by the graduate program).

  Finalists are invited for interviews and selection in Washington, D.C.
