Introduction 



 The Scuola Normale Superiore (SNS) in Italy offers fully funded PhD scholarships for both Italian and international students. These scholarships cover a wide range of disciplines across three faculties: Sciences, Political and Social Sciences, and Humanities. 


 Scholarship Benefits

Annual Stipend:

 Approximately €18,043, including a lodging allowance.

Meals:

 Free meals at SNS facilities or partner facilities, except during academic vacations.

Research Funding:

Additional support for authorized research activities in Italy and abroad.

Travel Reimbursement:

 For non-EU students, up to €1,000 for travel expenses at the start of the course, and potentially for return travel within a year after thesis defense.


 Eligibility

 Applicants must have a master’s degree or equivalent non-Italian qualification, awarded within five years before the application deadline.

 Those completing their master’s degree by October 31 of the application year are also eligible.

 Applicants must not have any severe criminal convictions or disciplinary sanctions from previous educational institutions.

Applications must be submitted online, including a letter of motivation, curriculum vitae, grade transcripts, and the relevant diplomas. The deadlines vary by faculty:

 Faculty of Sciences and Faculty of Political and Social Sciences: March 7, 2024

 Faculty of Humanities: May 30, 2024
